Russell has been in full-time ministry since 2001, serving as the Youth Minister at congregations in Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. He began his work at Grapevine in December of 2007.
As the Pulpit Minister, Russell partners with the staff and elders in developing ways to equip, empower, and integrate individuals into the vision of the Grapevine Church of Christ through service and ministry. He works alongside the church leaders and the community to help individuals and families find their connection points. These areas of connection include Groups@Grapevine, Sunday Life Classes, Mid-Week Gatherings, and community events. Interactions like these help Russell attain his goal: to make Grapevine a place of community and hospitality where anyone can serve in the mission of God.
Russell and his wife, Laurie, have been married since 2002. They have a daughter, Annaleigh, and a son, Isaac. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Abilene Christian University in 2000. He also holds a Master’s degree in Missional Leadership from Rochester College. In addition to spending vacation time with his family, Russell enjoys reading and playing golf.
