Scott AllenPulpit Minister
Scott, a native of Arlington, has been married to his wife Shelly, a teacher, since the fall of 1996. He has been involved in ministry since 1993 and has served as a minister on staff since 1999. His degrees (Bachelors of Arts from Hardin Simmons University, 1992, and Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Houston, 2000) have given Scott original and interesting perspectives about delivering God’s message. He strives to communicate the truth of God in creative and unique ways, and has been doing so at Grapevine since 2014.
His passion for communicating the need for and practical side of peacemaking led to his Masters of Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation degree (Abilene Christian University, 2015). Scott and Shelly are passionate about marriages and families and hope to strengthen the relationships of the members at Grapevine. Scott’s family is incredibly important to him, and his children, Olivia and Liam, are an integral focus in his life. He enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and watching movies.
Scott is a strong believer that the people of God, flaws and all, are God’s plan “A” for bringing hope to the world, and that when we accept our commission and assume this responsibility, there is no limit to what God can do.
